TIM SWEENEY
Tim Sweeney is a Second Year Business student concentrating in Information Systems and minoring in Compter Science. After moving from San Diego to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly, Tim quickly got involved in Cal Poly Entrepreneurs. Previously he filled the role of Technology Officer, and in January of 2013 he became President. When he is not working on club organization, schoolwork, or his current project, Tim enjoys going long boarding, drawing, taking road trips, and adventuring outdoors. MATT BLEIFER
Matt is a second year Computer Science student at Cal Poly, with strong passions for technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He grew up in Valencia, California where he worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain as a Lead, and later as an Information Systems Technician. Currently he works as the Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and also as a mentor for the Innovation Sandbox. His goal in life is to combine his several passions to change the world for the better. Matt also enjoys music, adventuring, hiking, and meeting new people.
STEPHANIE FRIEND
Stephanie is a 2nd year studying under the interdisciplinary major of Liberal Arts and Engineering Studies. With concentrations in both Computer Science and Graphic Arts, Stephanie hopes to use her combined interests of technology and art to create something awe-inspiring in the field of web development, human-computer interaction, user-interface design, or interactive media. Originally from Washington, Stephanie enjoys playing beach volleyball, water-skiing, and hiking, as well as acrylic painting and photography. Stephanie was hooked on the entrepreneurship club due to the creativity and vaste talent of all of its members, and as the Chief Marketing Officer, she hopes to portray Cal Poly Entrepreneurs as a club that can be beneficial to all students, no matter what their diverse passions.
JARED HIRATA
Jared is a first year Computer Science student and Chief Outreach Coordinator for Cal Poly Entrepreneurs. Jared joined Cal Poly Entrepreneurs because of his passion for entrepreneurship. One of Jared’s interests and hobbies has long been screen-printing. In his free time, he enjoys designing custom graphics for t-shirts. At age 17, Jared decided to establish a small screen-printing business in his garage. Jared undertook this business venture not only to earn money, but also because he wanted to create shirts for clubs and organizations at his high school to foster school, team, and club pride. Jared believes that anybody can start a business of his or her own. He believes it only takes passion and determination to get you where you want to go. Jared enjoys meeting new people, chillaxing with friends and enjoying life.
ROBERT LONG
Robert Long is a second year Computer Science student from Sacramento, California who already has some entrepreneurship experience under his belt. Robert took a quarter off to work at a startup company in Silicon Valley before returning to school to continue his education and work on his own startup ideas. He is currently the Officer of Industry Exposure and hopes to use his experience to help others in their entrepreneurial aspirations. When he isn’t working on his next “big idea”, Robert likes to waterski, DJ, travel, and help out his high school robotics team.
CHELSEA BROWN
Chelsea is a fourth year Business major concentrating in entrepreneurship and minoring in Spanish. She caught the entrepreneurship bug after attending a few CPE meetings, helping out at SPECTACLE 2012, and talking with the entrepreneurship concentration head, Dr. Jonathan York. Her favorite part about entrepreneurship is seeing what new innovations come about through Cal Poly student startups. She was an intern for a real estate technology startup company located in Silicon Valley and has no idea where she will end up after graduating in June of 2013. She loves meeting new people, eating, and long walks on the beach.
SEAN LAHIJANI
Sean is a fifth year architecture student who aspires to establish a design-build architecture office that doubles as an industrial design studio. Sean is fascinated by the influence architecture holds on human perceptions and collective consciousness. He hopes to produce environments and products that can advance the human experience by more actively engaging our 5 senses (and potential 6th sense). When Sean is not pondering upon utopian fantasies and political ideals, he fancies time in nature, cooking, reading, drawing, traveling, and just overall experiencing his dynamic existence!
KRISTIN KENNEY
Kristin is a fourth-year journalism/PR major who’s passionate about helping others communicate their ideas and innovations. An intern at the Cal Poly Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, she enjoys helping to cultivate SLO’s entrepreneurial environment. She’s also taken on a leadership position in her major with the hopes of increasing collaboration with student startup teams. In her free time, she enjoys riding her horse, drinking beer, listening to great music and going on adventures. Kristin believes in the power of motivated teams and hopes to pull off some incredible experiences with CPE this year.
QUINN HUBBARD
Quinn is a fifth year marketing & entrepreneurship student. After jumping the hurdle of learning how to spell it, she became attracted to entrepreneurship for a myriad of reasons. Primarily, she finds it to be the most viable way to insert creativity & originality into business. She has yet to choose a specific industry, but is broadly interested in design as it relates to the consumer experience. This could have applications in everything from commonplace products to services to large scale buildings. When she’s not being a recluse, Quinn enjoys traveling, art & talking to strangers.
